Back to school transition…
can be a time when our kids regress and we see behaviors that we thought they outgrew;
for example: tantrums, spacing out, more tears, wired wild energy.
This is an opportunity for us to try the transition in a new way.
When things start to speed up at the start of the school year and fears of the unknown creep in and activate us, it is especially important to slow down, take a breath, feel your feet on the ground, notice the beauty around you in the moment.
And take another breath.
In moments like this it is important to remember what we have control over and what we don’t.
We don’t get to choose all the things life brings us in the transitions back to school.
We get to choose where we put our attention.
We can choose to be aware of our breath.
We can choose to be aware of what we are grateful for.
We can choose to slow down even just a little bit.
